A Step-by-Step Guide for Pilgrims
Ihram
Start with a sincere intention to enter the state of Ihram and engage in rituals, with the recitation of the Talbiyah.
Key Requirement
Put on Ihram garments before passing the Meeqat boundary.
Ihram Station
Tawaf
Tawaf is circumambulating the Noble House (Kaaba) 7 times counterclockwise, worshiping the Lord and drawing closer to Him.
Enter mataf, start at Black Stone.
Raise hand, say 'Allahu Akbar'.
Begin circumambulation.
Pray and make dhikr.
Complete seven full rounds.
Tawaf Station
Sa'i
Walk between the hills of Al-Safa and Al-Marwa, following the lines inside the Grand Mosque.
Safa Start
Begin from Mount Al-Safa.
Marwa Journey
Walk towards Mount Marwa.
Men Jogging
Jog between green flag markers.
Seven Rounds
Complete 7 one-way laps.
Sa'i Station
Hair Removal
Completing this step ends your Umrah rituals and lifts Ihram prohibitions.
For Males
Shave (Halq) or shorten (Taqsir).
For Females
Trim (1-2) cm from the ends.
